About Eleni

I discovered yoga twenty years ago and immediately felt that I had discovered a gift. Since my first class all that time ago, yoga has been part of my daily life and I have maintained a dedicated, consistent and loving practice ever since.

I began an Iyengar Yoga teacher apprenticeship in 2001 and have completed certification in this method. I have studied with the Iyengar family both in India and Australia. I have been teaching for the past fifeteen years and have undertaken further teacher training at the Himalayan Institute in the U.S.A. My interest in healing has led me to completing further professional development in trauma aware yoga and yoga for breast cancer…

During the 5 Week Restoring Balance Course You Will Learn:

  • Learn yoga postures to release tense muscles and increase motivation – Learn breathing techniques to manage anxiety by activating the parasympathetic nervous system
  • Learn Yoga Nidra, sleep-based guided meditation practice for deep relaxation and restoration
  • Learn mindfulness techniques for managing challenging thoughts and emotions
  • Lean about yoga wisdom to help you connect to yourself and your body in a more accepting and loving way

Restoring Balance: yoga for mental wellbeing

Restoring Balance: yoga for mental wellbeing is a 5 week yoga course specifically designed for people with experiences of depression, anxiety and/or trauma who would like to explore yoga away from a general class environment. The course introduces a yoga framework for restoring health and wellbeing and each class begins with a presentation on this framework. The class then progresses into physical yoga postures for connecting you to your body in a accepting and nonjudgmental way. You will also learn some basic yoga breathing techniques that are designed to either activate or soothe the autonomic nervous system. Each class ends with yoga nidra, a sleep-based meditation practice that is deeply restorative and healing of the body, mind, heart and soul.
