I am currently overseas and will be back in December 2019. Workshops in Melbourne will begin again in 2020.
Yogahari Healing holds various yoga workshops throughout the year. Workshops are a great way to immerse yourself in the transformative power of yoga that will take you deeper than any general yoga class.
The Vijnana Bhairava offers 112 dharanas or techniques for taking you into a direct personal experience of accessing your own consciousness.
The Vijnana Bhairava states that any one of these practices can take you beyond your experience of duality- seeing yourself as separate from everybody and everything in the manifest and unmanifest universe.
The Vijnana Bhairava is an agama (revered text) of the Kashmir Shaivism tradition of Tantra. Kashmir Shaivism is a non-dual philosophy, which means there is one fundamental principles at the heart of reality and everything that exists is an emanation of That!
The teacher of the Vijnana Bhairava is Shiva. In this text he is referred to as Bhairava (a fierce form of Shiva). The text is based on a Divine conversation between Bhairava and his consort Bhairavi- the Goddess Shakti, who asks him cheekily to explain to her the nature of reality. Out of love for her, Bhairava reveals these secret teachings.
The workshop will consist of:
Learning the invocation mantra for Shiva
A brief discussion about the Vijnana Bhairava and the purpose of our yoga/life journey according to this tradition
What is awakening
Exploring a small selection of the 112 practices.
A meditation recording and written notes based on the workshop
Enjoying some chai and chat after the practices.
If you have been practising yoga asana for a while and want to move into meditation practices, this is the perfect place to start.
If you are a yoga teacher you can receive CPD points from Yoga Australia.
